Ankara City Tour

Ankara City Tour

Ankara is the capital of Turkey and the country’s second largest city after Istanbul and it’s about 455 km by drive and 1 hour flight from Istanbul. There is also train between Istanbul - Ankara. Population of the Ankara 4.432,719 and once very highlighted place to visit during traveling to Turkey. Also, Ankara is on of the destination in the Turkey package tours.

The city has a mean elevation of 938 meters, and as of 2010 the metropolitan area in the entire Ankara Province had a population of 4.4 million. As turkey advisor, with many ancient cities, Ankara has gone by several names over the ages. It has been identified with the Hittite cult center Ankuses, although this remains a matter of debate. In classical antiquity and during the medieval period, the city was known as Ankara in Greek and Ancyra in Latin; the Galatian Celtic name was probably a similar variant. Following its annexation by the Seljuk Turks in 1073, the city became known in many European languages as Angora, a usage which continued until its official renaming to Ankara under the Turkish Postal Service Law of 1930.

Another proposed theory show that the original name of the city might be taken over from the Angara River of Asia by the invading Seljuk Turks. Centrally located in Anatolia, Ankara is an important commercial and industrial city. It is the center of the Turkish Government, and houses all foreign embassies. It is an important crossroads of trade, strategically located at the center of Turkeys highway and railway networks, and serves as the marketing center for the surrounding agricultural area. The city was famous for its long haired Angora goat and its prized wool , a unique breed of cat (Angora cat), white rabbits and their prized wool (Angora wool), pears, honey, and the regions musket grapes. Istanbul

Istanbul Tour

Istanbul Tour

Istanbul is the biggest city in Turkey and it is the economic, cultural, and historical heart of the country. Istanbul is one of the largest urban agglomerations in Europe with a population of 13.5 million. Istanbul is a transcontinental city, straddling the Bosphorus one of the world's busiest waterways in northwestern Turkey, between the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. Its commercial and historical center live in Europe, while a third of its population lives in Asia. Istanbul is placed in northwestern Turkey within the Marmara Region on a total area of 5,343 square kilometers. The Bosphorus, which connects the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea, divides the city into a European side, comprising the historic and economic centers, and an AsianAnatolian side. Golden Horn also divedes the city, it’s a natural harbor bounding the peninsula where the former Byzantium and Constantinople were founded. In the late 19th century, a wharf was constructed in Galata at the mouth of the Golden Horn, replacing a sandy beach that once formed part of the inlets coastline.

On 29 May 1453, after an eight-week siege Sultan Mehmed II captured Constantinople and declared it the new capital of the Ottoman Empire. Hours later, the sultan rode to the Hagia Sophia and summoned an imam to proclaim the Islamic creed, converting the grand cathedral into an imperial mosque. After capturing ConstantinopleMehmed II immediately starts revitalizing the city. He urged the return of those who had fled the city during the siege, and forcibly resettled Muslims, Jews, and Christians from other parts of Anatolia. The sultan invited people from all over Europe to his capital. It was for creating a cosmopolitan society presenting much of the Ottoman period. He also repaired the city's damaged infrastructure and began to build the Grand Bazaar, and constructed Topkapı Palace, the sultan's official residence. Travel to Turkey and Greece: Istanbul city half-day and full-day tours with private or small-group.
